For the Love of Christ<\/p>\n
They are quick to push Christ
\nback into Christmas, these
\nreligious zealots who condemn
\nhomosexuals and abortionists,
\nliberals and atheists,
\nhaving hitched the Christmas star
\nto the Republican party of Christ,
\nforgetting Christ was born to out of town
\nvisitors so poor a manger offered shelter,
\nto a carpenter and his much younger wife,
\na tradesman, who worked with his hands.
\nThey forget Christ chose the poor
\nas his disciples, chastised the religious,
\ntossed out the money changers quick
\nto make a buck off religious piety,
\ndined with prostitutes, the destitute,
\npolitical outcasts, the socially improper,
\nand, most importantly, have forgotten
\nhis condemnation of the self-righteous,
\nso certain of the rightness of their causes
\nthat they condemned Him to die on a cross,
\na cross resembling the first Greek letter
\nfor the Messiah, commemorated in Xmas.<\/p>\n
